Before launching GroTrans Engineering, LLC, I served the City of Phoenix Street Transportation Department for more than thirty years. During my City career, I held progressively responsible positions; mostly in the Traffic Operations Division. In my last year and a half, I was the Deputy Director of the Transportation Planning & Programming Division, and previous to that, Deputy Director of the Street Maintenance Division for three years.
I was also afforded the opportunity to serve the transportation industry and embraced the mission and vision of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE). I served in all offices of the Arizona Section, the Western District, then in 2002 as the International President. Even today, I remain on several technical councils and committees, and continue to write articles and chapters in technical publications.
One of the greatest joys of my work at the City was the ability to effectively engage diverse stakeholder groups impacted by the transportation projects and programs we developed. I was able to draw on my international network of transportation peers through ITE to bring best practices to the Phoenix urban area.
In 2016, I retired from the City of Phoenix and began the process of transitioning from public service. Recognizing the unique nature of my background, varied experience, and extensive network, I launched GroTrans Engineering, LLC to create a vehicle for providing the benefit of my subject matter expertise to transportation planning and engineering projects throughout Arizona, Colorado, the Western States, Nationally, and internationally.
GroTrans Engineering, LLC is a certified Small Business Enterprise (SBE) with the City of Phoenix and certified Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) with the Arizona Department of Transportation.
